'Now, I am so much happier'
'Children really like my films, realise that mentally we are on the same level!'
I am so excited and happy now, look at me. I can't stop grinning," says Viveik Oberoi as he signs scraps of paper, even Rs 100 notes that eager fans thrust on him.
On a surprise visit to the city, Oberoi clearly had the crowd eating out of his hands, as young girls hysterically shout his name and men try to get a picture clicked with him.

"The high that you get when people tell you they liked your work is unlike anything in the whole world. It leaves you feeling satisfied," says Oberoi.
And it is only this that the actor wants to concentrate on right now. "I only want to talk about my work, nothing on my personal life," he says.
With that understood, Viveik is affability itself. The guy is sure that it is future perfect as far as work is concerned, a great thing for him considering that his past few releases did not do well? "Sure Kisna and Home Delivery did not work but then Kaal was a success.
These things do not really matter. I do not ride on the success or the failure of one film, what matters the most is that you are satisfied and your fans are happy." And he follows this up with another statement, namely that he is not interested in the rat race.

"I don't want to speculate as to where I stand in the industry, all I want to do is act." And acting he is, with plenty of projects lined up, chief amongst them being Vishal Bhardwaj's Issak, an adaptation of Othello. "There are a couple of comedies, some action flicks also lined up, I am dabbling in as many genres as possible."
But right now, post-Masti, comedy seems to work for him. "I don't think the success of a film has much to do with the genre, some films work and some don't. As far as I am concerned, I feel children really like my films. They perhaps realise that mentally we are on the same level!" he says.
